Water Worker I position no longer available

Spanaway Water Company is no longer taking applications to fill a Water Worker I position to perform public water system operation, maintenance and installation work. Must be self-motivated with the desire and ability to work or lead within an active team environment.

Position Summary:
This is a entry-level position that serves as a member of the Company’s field staff for all field operations and maintenance functions. Primary duties that will be developed with training include, installation and maintenance of public water distribution system components, storage tanks, and wells. This position also assists with utility locates, maintenance of inventory, vehicle and equipment readiness and maintenance, well operation, and construction inspection. Responsible to and reports to the Field Operations and Maintenance Manger or as assigned to the Field Lead. 
 
Job Requirements:
Possess and maintain a valid Washington State Drivers and Class 'A' Commercial Drivers License (air brakes).
Obtain and maintain a valid L & I Flagging and First Aid certification.
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to properly operate and maintain construction equipment.
Department of Health Water Distribution Specialist I certification is required within 18 months. Basic Treatment Plant Operator and Cross-Connection Control Specialist certifications required within 36 months. 
Maintain Washington State Department of Labor and Industries competent person status; attend training for confined space and asbestos concrete pipe.
Participate in the Company’s random drug and alcohol testing program.

Wage and Benefits:
Starting salary range $17.61 to $19.10 with benefits. Starting wage based on experience, skill, knowledge and certifications. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance program as well as retirement program participation and Company funded certification training/testing.
